About Amanda
Most people tell me they hate having their photo taken. They say it before we have even met, usually in the first email, a little bit apologetic, a little bit braced.
Then the day comes and something else happens.
There is a moment, usually about ten minutes in, when you breathe out. Your shoulders drop. You stop performing and start being, and that is when I start getting the pictures you will actually use. Everything before that point is in service of getting you there: the conversation about where your business is heading, a location chosen so you are not stood somewhere that makes you feel exposed, and the fact that I will tell you what to do with your hands so you never have to wonder.
You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to feel ready. That part is my job, not yours.
We are our own worst critic, and I have never once met a woman who could see herself the way a room sees her. That gap is the whole reason this work exists. What I am doing all day is watching for the version of you that your clients and your friends already know, and catching it before you have time to arrange your face.
Twelve years of this now. Hundreds of founders, coaches, consultants and executives, most of them arriving at the point where the business had grown up and the photos had not caught up. Before photography I studied Business IT and worked in web development, which sounds like a detour and is not. It means I know how an image has to work once it is on your website, in a press feature, on a podcast cover, or cropped into a square at short notice.
It is not really about the photography. It is about what becomes possible when the way you look online finally matches the way you work.
